JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had filed a petition in the election commission seeking permission to change his party's name. It was reported that a four-member bench headed by Justice Punjab Election Commission Justice (retd) Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi heard the petition filed by the JUIF to change the party's name.
Kamran Murtaza appeared in the Election Commission of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and argued on the petition filed by the party for the name change. Advocate Kamran Murtaza, during the hearing during the Election Commission, requested that F-be removed in the name of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. After hearing Kamran Murtaza's arguments, the Election Commission Bench approved the renaming application filed by the JUIF. It should be noted that there is also a political and religious party called JUIC in the country, whose founder was the late Maulana Samiul Haq. Now Maulana Fazlur Rehman is busy trying to mobilize his party at the national level, which is why he has changed the name of the party.
