Saudi Arabia announces free treatment for Mecca blockade, coronavirus patients


A spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia said that in the last 24 hours, a further 154 people were being blocked in Makkah after being diagnosed with the Coronavirus. He said this during a briefing on a daily basis over the situation in the Coronavirus.

In a briefing seen live on Al Arabiya TV, the spokesman said that the total number of Coronavirus patients in Saudi Arabia has now increased to 1453.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said that some districts of Mecca will be closed completely and no one will be allowed in or out of the city after 3 pm local time on Monday.

In addition, the Health Minister in the country said that King Shah Salman has ordered the free declaration of all the coronavirus patients in the country.

The Health Minister said that the announcement would benefit Saudi nationals, foreigners living in the country as well as illegal immigrants.

He said Saudi Arabia was among the first 10 countries to test the coronavirus.
